Is laser therapy safe?
Laser therapy is completely safe. The FDA has classified low-level laser therapy devices as "non-significant risk medical devices." They pose no health risk to the patient provided when protective eyewear is worn. We recommend you contact your physician if you have any questions.
1. How many treatments do you need?
For most people only one treatment is needed. However, we do offer booster treatments within the first 6 months at no additional cost. Please call the office to discuss the details of our booster policy.
2. How long does the treatment take and when do you start feeling it?
The treatment takes about 20 minutes and most feel the effects of the laser immediately. Though you should expect to be at the office for about 40 minutes.
3. How do you feel once you are treated?
The treatment is very relaxing and some people experience a degree of drowsiness.
4. Does insurance cover this?
We do not take insurance, but we would be happy to give you some information to submit along with your receipt to your insurance company. Some insurance companies will reimburse for the treatment under needleless smoking cessation. Plus we will provide billing codes for our procedure.
5. How does the laser work?
The light energy of the laser is absorbed by skin and cells by stimulation of tender points. It triggers your body to go into a constant release of endorphins, which makes your body feel like it has just had a cigarette.
6. Where do you place the laser?
The laser is placed on tender points on the body around the ears, nose, hands, wrists, and forearm.
7. How long does the feeling of not needing a cigarette last after the treatment?
For most people, the physical cravings are gone for good. You will still have the mental habits to break, but we give you some great tips on how to break those habits as well.
8. If I have a medical condition, can I still be treated?
If you are pregnant or have experienced seizures, we regret that we are not able to treat you at this time. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact your doctor before being treated.
9. If I have a pacemaker, can I do this treatment?
We have had no problems with any clients that had a pacemaker, though we would suggest that you contact your doctor prior to being treated.
10. Is the treatment performed by a doctor?
No, it is performed by a laser technician.
11. I have never heard of this treatment, who else does this?
This type of procedure has been available in Europe and Canada for over 20 years. We have been open since August 2004.
12. What do you accept for payment for the treatment?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, and cash.
13. How far in advance do I have to schedule my appointment?
It depends on the location, so please call or e-mail us for scheduling information.
14. I usually smoke when I drink. After the treatment, will I still want to smoke when I drink?
We recommend that you avoid your alcohol intake for the first few days after the treatment. You may also want to avoid situations that trigger old smoking habits for a few days. You should limit your caffeine intake for the first few days as well.
15. Why should you choose New Beginnings Laser Therapy over other laser centers?
We were the first to bring this treatment to Nevada, northern New Jersey, North Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, northern California, Oklahoma, Mexico, and Louisiana. Not only do we pride ourselves on making sure that our technicians have the best quality of continuous education available, but combined, we smoked for over 155 years and over 21 packs per day. Since 90% of our employees were all smokers and quit with the New Beginnings Optimal Health Laser Therapy treatment, we understand the pains of beating the nicotine addition. This makes us more able to assist you in your goal to live a healthier smoke free lifestyle.
